Speed up gmail

I have been accessing the internet through a reliance netconnect card. And unfortunately this has been painstakingly slow at the best and plain dead at the worst 
The frustration of waiting forever to read my emails led me to search for ways to speed up my gmail. Here are a few steps that I have been using to speed up gmail.

You can use the mobile version of gmail at http://mail.google.com/mail/x/cm6v0×0kvrf5-/?f=1 Since it is designed for mobiles, it is really fast
or you can use the html version of gmail at http://mail.google.com/mail/h/5rfigl1ekf0l/?zy=f&f=1
