How to insert SIM card in iPhone 4
Before you can insert your SIM in iPhone 4, you should know that iPhone 4 uses Micro SIM instead of the regular SIM. Micro SIM, technically known as 3FF (3rd Form Factor) SIM is smaller in size (12 * 15 mm) than the traditional SIM card (15 * 25 mm).

Switch off your iPhone before inserting the SIM.
Step 1: Locate the SIM Tray on the right side edge of the iPhone.
Step 2: Take a simple paper clip and straighten it.
Step 3: Push the clip tip (point) in the small dot like hole in the SIM Tray, till it pops out.
Step 4: Take the SIM tray out and replace the existing Micro SIM with your Micro SIM card. Make sure that the SIM fits perfectly in the slot as marked.
Step 5: Push back the tray with the SIM in the empty SIM slot. You will hear the a small click sound once it fits in properly.
Thats it. You can now switch on you iPhone. It will recognize you new SIM in few minutes if every thing is fine.

I shifted from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 and realized that it has micro sim.. I managed to get my hands on Sim cutter else manually cutting would be a real pain…
