Which of the following websites you would have invested in based on keyword research?
- Amazon
- Ebay
- Techcrunch
- Labnol.org
- Seomoz.org
I am at a loss to know a single great website that could have been started based on the philosophy of “enter a niche based on extensive keyword research”.

In fact none… When a site gets authority and the best in the niche, you don’t even care about keywords. Naturally you will get traffic and references.
Look at problogger.net blog, it may not be the best SEO optimized blog. It doesn’t even have a meta keywords tag.
The keyword rat race is mainly among the second rung and third tier players
to be right behind these pro-blogs and sites on SERPs

Great to see you ob binaryday after sometime. That is the exact point I was trying o drive home. Keyword research is great only if you intend to create 100s of 5$ a day sites. But to create an online business you need a real business idea that solves a problem….
Without a doubt it’s Amazon along with ebay.. big potential
