When adsense fails

What do you do when adsense fails to make sense of your website? My friend runs this blog about interesting advertisements. His posts are about advertisements of different products. His visitors are interested in the advertisements and not in the products. Obvious right? Not to Google It keeps on showing advertisements about the products. Noone is interested in them anyways. So noone clicks :(

What is the possible solution to this problem? Any ideas?

Man…your friend is not alone. Adsense earns pennies for a lot of folks.

    Hi,
There is something called section targeting. You could actually direct adsense to put up ads that match the content as you desire. Ask your friend to try that out.
Oh by the way, the whole economy of Internet runs on pennies. It is called the Long Tail effect. Check out this => http://churn-news.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-place-in-sun.html
    Have fun!

Probably he should write prolifically and get noticed by media. He should get listed on forums and should have others talking about his blog. Thats the only way.

I don’t see any other SEO strategy working for that blog.

Once the traffic starts pouring, we can decide better on how to monetize it.

It is difficult to make money from Adsense for some niches. If his blog does not garner enough interest, one of the ways could be to set up an amazon store. The items can be books on advertising.

Another way could be to actually look for private ad sales from some marketing/ad companies. If the traffic is decent and the application strong,He might as well get good ad sales given that it is a targeted advertisment site
