Is your blog a book, magazine or newspaper?

A good book written in 1990 is still very much useful and in demand. A superhit magazine stays relevant may be for a maximum 1 year. A newspaper looses all relevance in less than a couple of days.

What about your blog? Is it going to be a book, magazine or newspaper? will it remain relevant 1 year down the line even if you stop blogging today?

The way to the holy grail of blogging i.e passive income, lies in the answer to the above question. If you have to keep writing 5 articles a week to maintain your current 500$ income, the only way to go to 1000$ a month is to write 10 articles a week.to earn 10,000$ a month you need to write 100 articles a week!!!

think about it before you publish your next article.

    You have a good point.

Maybe the mixture of all three would be the best.

But I think the analogy could be questioned.

In the sense, in all three cases if you stop publishing on the blog after, lets say 3 years, in the hopes of making passive income, what do you think will be the effect on the readership.

In all three cases, it would get affected definitely, and for the worse. How much of an impact, this is hard to say because not all blogs are alike.

How ever I am a firm believer that if the SEO is worked upon – like titles, tags, back-links etc, a lot of old articles will continue to show up for a long time. Irrespective of whether its a book, or a magazine or a newspaper.
