November 9th, 2008 by admin

The success of Iphone has helped apple to capture the 2nd spot in the competitive smartphones market. Nokia which is facng intense attack from both apple and RIM, has been constantly loosing market share. Its market share is down to 38.9% from 51.4% a year ago.

Even now Nokia is way ahead of Apple’s market share of 17.3%. RIM stands close to Apple at 15.2%. What makes Apple’s achievement remarkable is the fact that It has achieved this success in very less time.

However to continue to keep the second position, Apple will have to keep coming up with new winners and it is going to be a tough task to follow up on the success of Iphone. It will be interesting to see what strategy is followed by Nokia, Apple and RIM.
