I have never needed a reason to switch from ie to mozilla. Mozailla is cool and that has been good enough reasons for me to keep using mozilla for more than 2 years now. However if you need some reasons then here are some compelling reasons to move to mozilla from ie.

Mozilla is the leader, ie keeps trying to play catch up: Tabbed browsing, popup blocker or addons, all of them were introduced by mozilla. IE copied them much later. Why wait for six months to use all cool features.

There are more people trying to hack IE: I am not sure if mozilla firefox is more secure than ie or not. However I am sure that any hacker will want to hack ie before mozilla simply because there are more people using ie. So any hack of ie shall get them higher return for their labor. Moreovers hackers love mozilla.

Make a statement We may not go out on the street or burn effigies. But we can make a statement by switching to mozilla from ie. It is not about the browser silly. It is about telling the big corporates how to run OUR industry.

The mozilla addons rock Do you want to toast your bread with your browser. Search for some time and I am sure you will find a mozilla addon that will enable you to do so. If you can not find one then go ahead and write a addon yourself. Drop me a comment though so that I can use it to toast my bread as well.

Watch porn only when you really want to No one likes to have a porn popup on the screen while in the middle of a code review with the boss.

Have some empathy for web developers like me making a site work on the different versions of ie is a nightmare of many web developers. Help us by not using ie.
