Your domain name will play a significant part in the success of your online venture. This is not the most important factor of success. This is one factor in your cotrol. Till you choose it the first time!!

There are several factors to consider while choosing a domain name. Some of the important factors are

  • Ease of typing: Your users will type your domain name in the browser. Make sure that it is easy to type the domain name. Misspellings can make you loose a lot of users.
  • Ease of Pronouncing: This is a really important factor that is largely ignored by experts. I think this is the most important factor. People are more likely to talk about a site that is easy to pronounce. So avoid using some french tounge twister for your domain name
  • Google suggest: This is another important factor that is ignored by experts. The most used serach term for all my domains is the domain name itself. However when you try binaryday on google it suggests “binary day”. I have no idea how many users I loose everyday because of this. So try the domain name on google and make sure that it does not suggest something else.
