Will the camera phones kill the digital cameras?
Innovative use of camera mobile
The camera has become the most important feature of the mobile phones today. Since you have doled out all those bucks, it may be a good idea to put the camera mobile phone into some constructive and innovative uses other than clicking the pic of the hottie in your class.
Instant Review Not sure if a particular dress will suit you? Try it out, get a picture of yourself in the mirror and send it to your freinds. You would know the answer in less than 15 minutes. Sounds like a cool idea to create a social networking site.
Computer screen capture: This is perhaps one of the most useful uses of the camera, especially if you want to get online help. take a snap of the error message and shoot a message to the support center. You will be surprised by how many long and tortoreous phone calls can be avoided by this.
Use it as a scanner: Do I need to say more. Especially if you can get your hands on one of those softwares that convert image into text, your project work will become just too easy. Also if you are a blogger like me you can get some original images for your webpage as well.
Address Book Like a restaurant on your way? Just snap a picture. You can always get back to the place when you have more time to spare.
Anythin else you use your camera for?

Tips for buying unbranded mobile phone in the grey market
What will you do if someone offered you a mobile phone with 4 megapixel camera, touch screen, music player and a lot more for a price less than Rs 3,000? Imeediately accept the offer??? Well many customers are doing the same with sales in the grey phone market rivalling that in the normal market. There is nothing wrong in taking advantage of a good bargain. However be clear about what you are bargaining, so that you will not have to regret later.
The biggest of the problem is you might be sold a stolen mobile phone. This may get you into bigger troubles than what you had bargained for. Most of these phones have very low quality components. On top of that no warranty is provided. So if anything happens to your phone then you may have to go for a new one. If you want to sell your handset then there will be significantly less resell value as buyers in the second hand mobile market prefer to buy mobile phones that have an invoice or warranty.
Finally if you decide to be brave hearted and go for a mobile phone in the grey market, then don’t buy the first one that is offered to you. Some of these sellers keep a lot of margin and they will sell you at a price far lower than the initial price if you start bargaining and shopping around. Many times the grey market sellers promise a lot of features that are not present in the mobile phone at all. So insist on using the handset to convince yourself that all the promised features are indeed present in the handset.
And for those of you who are not able to decide whether to buy a mobile phone in the grey market or not, do try to see if a model of your choice is available in the second hand mobile market. A second hand mobile allows you to get a really good quality mobile for a lesser price.

Planning to buy second hand mobile ? Keep these points in mind
Buying a good second hand mobile may be the easiest way to get a really good bargain. However there are some critical points to consider to avoid any possible future problem.
Make sure that it is not a stolen handset: Insist on seeing the original documents to ensure that you are buying a genuine handset. A google search for the imei number of the handset is a good idea as well.
The age of the handset: Try to avoid very old second hand mobile phones. Also check that all parts of the mobile phone are in working condition. If you are buying an expensive handset then it makes sense to insist on getting a view from a technical person before making the payment.
Is the handset in warranty period? Be ready to pay a premium for a handset that is still in its warranty period.
Check the current market price of the mobile phone When it comes to second hand mobile phone, the price that the original buyer had paid is of no use at all. Rather check what is current market price of the handset. Do not go by the MRP of the product. Go to some mobile showroom and check out the price of the mobile phone. Calculate the saving from the second hand mobile with reference to the price you would have to pay after all the bargaining is over.
Has it been too long since the last price cut? Mobile handset markets see a drop in the price of handsets on a periodic basis. If there has been no srop in the price of the model since its launch, then factor in a 20% drop in price while comparing price of the original and that of the second hand mobile.

Has google pagerank lost its importance?
First the good news. Binaryday has got back to pagerank 4. Abhishek raises a pertinent point about pagerank loosing its relevance. So has pagerank lost its relevance? My answer is yes and no.
Now we know that Pagerank is not THE deciding factor for search engine ranking, as was believed. However having said that, pagerank is one of the important factors for search engine ranking, and you should ignore it at your own peril.
Abhishek is a really good freind and I wish him all the best. However there are several reasons why I think we should take google’s penalty seriously.
1. Think about it. If pagerank is irrelevant then why will google penalize erring sites with an irrelevant factor? paid links present a real threat to the very existence of google. The relevance of google search results stems from its ability to identify authority pages by looking at who is linking to the page. Now if those incoming links can be manipulated, then what will happen to the relevance of google search results?
2. If pagerank does not matter then why do people buy links in the first place? Even seomoz has accepted that they do recommend clients to buy links.
I shall be posting about my experience of change in traffic post this update. I have requested abhishek to do so as well. If anyone has studied this topic then please let me know. I shall be happy to link to you.
What does pakistan want?
The recent terror attacks in Bangalore and Ahmedabad have brought back a question that I have been trying to answer for more than 10 years now. All of us accept that pakistan has been supporting terrorism in India. Government changed from Benazir bhutto to Nawaz sarif. Democracy gave way to military rule under Musharrraf. However there has been no change in their terror policy. Have you ever seen such determined effort by any nation? What explains such level of determination?
I am sure people of pakistan have their own problems to solve. Why don’t they question the unnecessary expense that goes towards terrorism in India? They love our cricketers, they love bollywood. Then why do they hate us? or Do they really hate us?
We must try and answer these questions. Because without understanding these fundamental questions, we shall never be able to solve the problem of terrorism. And we need to solve this problem before any more bomb blasts. I have not been able to answer these questions myself. However I wish that some wiser person happens to read this post and answer these questions that have been troubling me and this nation for all these years.
Jai Bharat.
